English Language – A-Level
A-Level English offers students the opportunity to develop their subject knowledge by engaging creatively and critically with a wide range of texts and discourses.
The course teaches students to develop skills in debating different views, research aspects of language in use, create their own text and reflect critically on their own and the texts of others.
Analysis is a major part of the course and you will study texts of a variety of subjects and genres. You should also expect to do some extra reading at A-level, to become familiar with advanced linguistic terminology and expand your vocabulary.
